Assam Skill University (ASU) bid a heartfelt farewell to its Founding Vice-Chancellor, Sjt. Subhash Chandra Das, IAS (Retd.), during the Deeksharambh 2026 Student Induction Programme for the newly admitted students of the Academic Session 2026–27 on 5^th August, 2026. The Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor welcomed the new batch, congratulating them on choosing ASU and encouraging them to become industry-ready professionals through skill-based education. Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Deka, Dean of Academics, highlighted that the week-long induction programme introduces students to the University's academic framework, campus facilities, laboratories, student clubs, industry engagement opportunities and institutional values. Around 360 students participated in the programme, hosted by Dr. Shapna Medhi, Assistant Professor, Department of Tourism. Inspiring sessions by noted writer and motivational speaker Sri Mayur Bora and DIG, CISF (Retd.) Sri Siddhartha Shankar Sharma motivated students to embrace resilience, continuous upskilling and industry exposure. Deans and Heads of Departments introduced students to the academic and career opportunities across various disciplines. The University also felicitated Dr. Bibhuti Bhushan Bhardwaj and Mr. Rupankar Sharma for strengthening institutional systems, while appreciating Dr. Abdul Hannan, Mr. Sagar Kalita and Mr. Bijay Kumar Singh for developing the counselling and admission software for the Academic Session 2026–27. The programme concluded with the National Anthem and a vote of thanks, marking a fitting farewell to the Founding Vice-Chancellor and an inspiring beginning for the newest members of the ASU family.
