Course Description
This short-term 2-month certificate program in Homestay Operations (NSQF Level – 5) isdesigned to equip learners with the practical skills and knowledge required to manage andoperate a successful homestay business. The primary purpose of the course is to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship in the tourism and hospitality sector. It also aims to enhance service quality, hygiene standards, and guest experience in homestayestablishments. Target learners include entrepreneurs, students and owners, employees of home stays.
Rationale & Market Relevance:
With the rise in domestic travel and preference for authentic local experiences, homestays have become a key segment, creating a need for trained individuals who can maintain service quality, hygiene, and guest satisfaction. This course addresses the industry demand by preparing learners with practical skills aligned to current hospitality standards. Promoting homestays in Assam and NE regions not only supports sustainable tourism but
also generates local employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. The program enables learners to immediately take up roles such as Homestay Operator, Guest Relations Assistant,or Housekeeping Assistant, or start their own homestay ventures, thereby contributing to the local economy and tourism ecosystem.

After the completion of the course, students will be able to:
