Advancing Careers Through Technology, Management, and Skill Based Learning

Assam Skill University recently organized a one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Advancing Careers Through Technology, Management, and Skill-Based Learning." The event, which attracted faculty members from various institutions across Assam, provided valuable insights into career advancement through skill development and technology integration.

The program was inaugurated by Prof. Debabrata Das, Advisor (Higher Education) to the Government of Assam and former Vice Chancellor of Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management. His address set the tone for the sessions that followed.

The FDP featured insightful lectures by esteemed resource persons:

  • Prof. Manoj Deka (ASU) delivered a session on "About NEP" and "Designing a Skill-Based Curriculum-2".
  • Prof. Chandana Goswami (ASU) led sessions on "Supporting Students through Mentoring" and "Skill Development".
  • Prof. Anil Bora (ASU) discussed "Teaching Pedagogy".
  • Dr. Abdul Hannan (ASU) explored "Empowering Futures: AI for Inclusive Careers".
  • Dr. Shubhajit Das (ASU) conducted a session on "Design Thinking".
  • Mr. Bibhuti B. Bharadwaj (ASU) presented "Designing a Skill-Based Curriculum-1".
  • Dr. Deep Jyoti Gurung (ASU) led sessions on "Modern Tools for Modern Education".
  • Dr. Kamaleswar Boro (ASU) discussed "Employability and Skill Gaps in Higher Education".
  • Dr. Sikha Rani Baishya (ASU) shared insights on "Outcome-Based Education in the Context of NEP-2020".
  • Dr. Sameer Sarkar (Gauhati University) covered "AI & ICT in NEP-2020".

On the final day of the program, Mr. Jayanta Barua, Ex-CEO of the Skill Development Institute, Guwahati, and Retired CGM, conducted an insightful session, imparting his extensive expertise on skill development.

The valedictory session was attended by the Md. Hanif Noorani, Registrar of Assam Skill University, marking the formal conclusion of the FDP. This enriching experience left participants with a deeper understanding of the critical role of technology, management, and skill-based learning in advancing academic and professional careers.
