Study in Korea through ADB-ROK Scholarship

ADB-ROK Scholarship aims to support outstanding students and faculty members from Asian Development Bank (ADB) Partner Universities in pursuing different eligible programs in the Republic of Korea (ROK). This initiative fosters international partnerships, enhances education and research, and contributes to sustainable development in Asia and the Pacific by equipping scholars with advanced knowledge and skills.

This initiative fosters international partnerships and enhances education and research capacities through human resource development.

Key Details:

The scholarship is open to students, graduates, and faculty members of ADB partner universities. Applicants must submit their recommendation letters directly to the ROK university they are applying to. Each applicant can apply to only one university under this program.

Eligible Degree Program:

Master’s program : (1 yr of Korean Language Program) + 2 yrs of Degree Program.
Doctoral Program : (1 yr of Korean Language Program) + 3yrs of Degree Program.

Applicable Areas:

Humanities, Social Science, Natural Science, Applied Science, Engineering, Art, Entertainment & Sports and Medicines.

Applicants Age & Nationality:

For students under 40 and for academic professors under 45 & Nationality: Citizenship of DMCs of ADB.

Selection Process:

ROK Universities and National Institute for International Education (NIIED) will conduct the Selection Process and Announce the list of selected Scholars.

Application Process:

1. Recommendation Letter:
   • Only the designated Nodal Officer from the university is authorized to issue recommendation letters.
   • Applicants should contact the university’s Nodal Officer for their recommendation letter.
2. Submission to ADB:
   • The university will send the list of the recommended applicants to the ADB.
   • Further ADB will request the ROK government to prioritize the selected candidates.
